El Dr. David Gomez-Barquero, investigador Ramón y Cajal del Insituto de Telecomunicaciones y Aplicciones Multimedia (iTEAM) de la Universitat Politècnica de Valéncia (UPV), ha sido recientemente elegido como Editor Asociado de la revista científica IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting.
El Dr. Gomez-Barquero también es miembro senior del IEEE, miembro de la IEEE Broadcast Technology Society (BTS), co-presidente del programa técnico del congreso IEEE International Symposium on Broadband Multimedia Systems and Broadcasting (BMSB), y vocal del capítulo español IEEE BTS. Hasta la fecha, él ha publicado más de 150 artículos científicos con aproximadamente 1000 citas, incluyendo 24 artículos de la revista IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting, y su factor de publicación H es 17. También es editor invitado del número especial sobre la tecnología de Televisión Digital Terrestre (TDT) de nueva generación norteamericana ATSC 3.0, que se publicará en Marzo de 2016.
Sus líneas de investigación actuales se centran en nuevas tecnologías de radiodifusión de contenidos en redes celulares y de TDT, bajo el marco del proyecto de investigación “Extra-Terrestrial Digital Broadcast Technologies (E.T.
