The international symposium organized by IEEE Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC) took place in Valencia from September 2 to 5, being one of the most prominent events in wireless communications. IMAGINE-B5G was represented by its partners UPV, Telefónica, Nokia, and Keysight.
UPV, through the Mobile Communications Group of iTEAM, showcased a virtual reality tour of its Immersive Communications Laboratory and a demo of a 5G robot race, where attendees could remotely drive robots located at the Conference Center and the UPV campus. Additionally, Nokia presented demonstrations on the use of Network as a Code (NaC) and CAPIF for remote testing of 5G equipment, Telefónica highlighted the ADAPT-G use case, which integrates drones, AR devices, and 5G to enhance port security, and Keysight exhibited tools to analyze UPV’s private 5G network. The event also served to promote the 3rd IMAGINE-B5G open call in October, offering third parties the opportunity to test innovative vertical applications.
Lastly, it is worth noting the participation of Irene Alepuz (iTEAM-UPV) in the PIMRC session focused on the inclusion of women in telecommunications research, where she presented the Women in Telecommunications and Research (WiTaR) initiative. IMAGINE-B5G continues to connect experts and industry leaders to drive the future of 5G technology and beyond.
