The Institute of Telecommunications and Multimedia Applications (iTEAM) at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) has confirmed the renewal of Alicia Abad García as Innovation Agent. She will continue her work in a coordinated and integrated manner within the Business Innovation Unit (UCIE) under the project reference INNTA1/2024/48.
This renewal is supported by the Valencian Innovation Agency (IVACE+i) through its talent promotion grant program (Line 1.2), reinforcing Abad’s role in the valorization of knowledge and its effective transfer to the business sector in the Valencian Community.
Alicia Abad has been a fundamental contributor to the development of the project “Transfer of New Enabling Technologies for ICT Systems and Applications for 2030” (INNTA1/2022/53), which was successfully completed in September 2024. The renewal of her position will allow the continuation of technology transfer efforts, aligned with the UCIE’s Work Plan, through specific tasks that will strengthen ties between university research and the business and industrial sectors.
Through iTEAM’s Innovation Unit, the Innovation Agent and UCIE will collaborate closely to promote knowledge valorization and the transfer of R&D+i results by fostering cooperation among the agents involved in industry, research, innovation, and public authorities, as well as by strengthening the research and innovation ecosystem in the Valencian Community.
One of the institute’s medium-term strategic objectives is to incorporate Innovative Public Procurement as a key mechanism to facilitate the entry of innovations into the market, thus promoting a robust and collaborative research and innovation ecosystem.
