The new PERTE Chip Chair, led by Pascual Muñoz and José Capmany, members of the Photonics Research Labs (PRL) within the iTEAM at the Universitat Politècnica de València, has launched its training program. This initiative is part of the PERTE Chip program, an ambitious government strategy aimed at boosting the technological ecosystem in Spain.
Students in the first edition of the Master Specialist in Integrated Photonics are already learning the entire process of designing, manufacturing, and testing integrated photonic chips under the guidance of top professionals. They are also gaining expertise in LiDAR and structural sensing. Through hands-on practice and simulations, both on computers and in UPVFab’s state-of-the-art laboratories, they are acquiring a wide range of skills that will prepare them to work in any field related to integrated photonics at the end of their training.
Applications are now open for the next edition of the master’s program, which is set to begin between late January and early February.
