The Telecommunications Museum of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), led by Carmen Bachiller from the Microwave Applications Group (GAM) of iTEAM, has been recognized at the 13th edition of the COPE Valencia Awards. This award highlights its work in recovering the valuable radio collection of Vicente Tarrazona, a resident of Paiporta, whose collection was severely damaged by the heavy rains of the DANA storm.
The award was received by Carmen Bachiller, director of the ETSIT Museum, and Toni Colomina, director of the Art and Heritage Fund, accompanied by Beatriz Doménech García, Senior Conservation-Restoration Technician. The restoration project has been carried out thanks to the dedication of a team of volunteers and professionals who have worked tirelessly to recover and restore the damaged radios.
The rescued collection is not only a treasure of telecommunications history but also a symbol of collective memory that endures thanks to the joint efforts of all those involved.
A truly remarkable achievement that reflects the excellence and commitment of the Telecommunications Museum. Congratulations on this outstanding work!
