iTEAM hosted the conference “Coded Waveforms and Pulse-Compression for Nondestructive Testing and Evaluation (NDT&E)” presented by Dr. Stefano Laureti

Last week, iTEAM hosted the conference “Coded Waveforms and Pulse-Compression for Nondestructive Testing and Evaluation (NDT&E)” presented by Dr. Stefano Laureti. Dr. Laureti is currently a Researcher in the DIMES Department at the University of Calabria (Italy) and an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Warwick (UK). He is an expert in the general field of nondestructive testing (NDT) using various techniques such as ultrasound or active thermography. He works on a wide range of NDT applications, such as detecting defects in materials (composites, concrete, polymers, steel forging), determining properties in food (oil composition), or analyzing ancient paintings to facilitate their restoration. Dr. Laureti is an expert in using pulse-compression techniques to improve resolution while maintaining the excitation energy of the analyzed parts.

Additionally, he maintains significant activity at the European level, currently serving as the coordinator of the “MetacMed” project (HORIZON Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, MSCA-2022-DN-01), which has received funding of over 3 million euros.
