Eight iTEAM Researchers Stand Out in Stanford University’s Prestigious Ranking

The Institute of Telecommunications and Multimedia Applications (iTEAM) at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) celebrates the inclusion of eight of its researchers in the Ranking of the World Scientists: World’s Top 2% Scientists, compiled by Stanford University and published by Elsevier. This international recognition places these scientists among the most influential in their respective fields worldwide.

Out of the 107 UPV researchers featured in this prestigious ranking, eight iTEAM researchers are within the top 2%, while José Capmany and David López rank in the top 1%. The Photonics Research Labs group is particularly notable, including José Capmany, Salvador Sales, Daniel Pastor, Beatriz Ortega, Ivana Gasulla, and Daniel Pérez from the iTEAM spin-off iPronics Programmable Photonics. Additionally, the Mobile Communications group is represented by David López and David Gómez-Barquero.

Stanford’s ranking is highly respected for its foundation in objective metrics such as the impact of scientific publications, citations received, and the global relevance of research. The inclusion of these eight iTEAM researchers reflects both their individual excellence and the institute’s capacity to lead advancements in telecommunications technologies.

At iTEAM, we take great pride in having such an exceptional team of researchers, whose work continues to make a significant impact in the international scientific and technological arena.
