The works, led by civil engineers, are being carried out by the company CHM. “This is a complex process. Thanks to the sensors developed by UPV-CalSens, we have been able to monitor all the work in real time, from the reconstruction of the bridge to its relocation, load testing, and commissioning,” explains Jesús Martínez, CEO of CalSens.
The technology used is the result of years of research by iTEAM scientists, who hold several patents and have transferred their expertise to CalSens. The sensors developed by CalSens are based on fiber optic technology, providing a comprehensive real-time diagnosis of infrastructure conditions (in this case, the CV-36 bridge) during such complex operations. These sensors provide data on temperature, strain, vibrations, displacements, and the natural modes of the structures.
